A house is not a home…

There are a few things that I think make a house REALLY feel like a home.

1. When your husband comes home and you’re there together.
2. When it’s filled with the smells of home cooking and baking.
3. Christmas trees.
4. Adding your personal jokes all over the house.
5. Drawing on your washing machine with liquid chalk so it now has a face.
6. Photos (and lots of them)
7. Children!

We’ve done pretty well at numbers 1 through 5.

We’re currently working on 6 and 7!

Number 6, photos.
To say I’m married to someone who often looks like a cyclops because he has one great big eye that says Canon on the front, we don’t have all that many photos up in our house. So a little while ago we made the resolution to cover our stairs in memories. Old ones and new ones and have a gallery. That way when No. 7 comes into being they will know we were once young, cool and hip and did fun things (we can only hope). So we’ve started building our Arber Gallery, see below. Some frames are still empty but I’m sure pretty soon we’ll find something to fill them with!

Number 7, children.
We’re currently working on number 7. Baby Arber is now at her 21 week stage. So last week we enjoyed a trip to the hospital to see her again, and we had our fingers crossed that her legs wouldn’t be!
She was moving around like a whirring thing that whirs, and finally let us she that she, was in fact a she! Which we were so pleased about! We didn’t mind either way but were so happy to stop calling baby Arber ‘it’ or ‘blueberry’.

She’s mostly ok, so we just have to go to a few follow up appointments now to check up on her whirring self. Which we can’t complain about we get to see her again!

Grandma and Grandad Day (to be) have bought her her first girl outfit too! yey! already getting kitted out! Although she now needs something yellow!;)

That barely qualifies as a bump! I bet you feel like it’s already massive though don’t you? You look stunning as always Becky! I can’t wait to mee little Miss Arber – I’ll see if I can work on the yellow thing for you. xx
